#nano2016 – Day 23. I’m just getting started for the day.

nanowrimo_2016_webbanner_participant

Day 23 – Forgive me readers for I have been too quiet. It has been a few days since my last update…

I have to admit. Nano2016 is knackering me out. I’m up til 11-12pm writing – which isn’t that late in the grand scheme of things, but it’s more draining staring at a computer than anything else. I have to admit, I’m so glad it’s almost over (just one more week) despite how proud I am of myself for not only sticking it out, but for being on target.

Today’s word count: 0 I haven’t started writing yet – total for NaNo –37,734

Story word count: 61,880 – However, only 59,580 of those are for Girls and Boys. I finished that yesterday (Day 22) and I started writing an accompanying novella. I’m not spilling much about this book just yet, other than it’s going to be much more emotional than I first realised. If I don’t make you cry, you’re like me. Cold Hearted!

I’m about to get started for the day (after I make a fresh cup of tea) and I’m only 599 words away from today’s target, so I can take it a bit easy if I want. I’d like to hit at least 2k if possible, to get me ahead again, ready for the weekend.

I’m hoping to have a few new teasers for you b the end of the day. I just hope you’ve been enjoying them as much as I have!

If you are writing during Nano… may the odds be ever in your favour and I wish many words fall from your fingertips!

#nano2016 – Day 18. Getting There Slowly.

nanowrimo_2016_webbanner_participant

Day 16 – I haven’t updated in a while. There’s a couple of excuses I could give, but mostly I’ve been writing until late at night, then I go to bed and crash out. Simple as that. I can’t remember the daily totals for the days I’ve missed, but I do have some handwritten teasers…

14725663_1792842960974245_7851603578638627987_n

Today’s word count: 851 (so far) – total for NaNo –29,380

Story word count: 53,526 – I do believe I have a problem though. I don’t think I’ll get another 20k out of this story as it feels like it’s winding down. However, I do have an idea brewing for an accompanying novella, so if I do fall short, I’ll make a start on that. Totally counts, right?

14925562_1199414763448341_640266655109632964_n

I’m hoping to get a big chunk done tomorrow as the other half is watching football (soccer) and it then working until 10pm. The kids can play to their heart’s content, but traditionally, I don’t do as well on a weekend.

14650204_1792124314379443_3021280929979772598_n

I have 45 minutes left of the day, so I’d like to get a few more words in if I can. Here’s some more teasers!

#nano2016 – Day 6. I’ll Catch Up, Eventually

nanowrimo_2016_webbanner_participant

Day 6 – it’s currently 7pm, and I’m having a crap few days, writing wise. My word count for day 4 was 493, and my word count for day 5 was 1,439. Both days, I wrote during the day, but was then dragged out to be sociable. Myself and the other half went out drinking on day 4, and then he and the kids made me go to a friend’s house on day 5 to watch fireworks and have a bonfire. I enjoyed myself, but I could have done with pushing myself and writing more.

14725663_1792842960974245_7851603578638627987_n

Today’s word count: 1,131 (so far) – total for NaNo – 7,404.

Story word count: 31,550 – I’d love to add more over the course of the evening, so hopefully this total word count will go up.

Now I need to have some food, and try to write more.

14925562_1199414763448341_640266655109632964_n

Tomorrow will be a low count day too. I have to go take part in a workshop at my son’s school, go shopping for something to wear tomorrow night (Himself is making me go out and be sociable), before going out. I hope I can squeeze a couple of hours in before we go. Finger’s crossed.

Another teaser. It’s another one from Andy Stone – it’s not blowing my own trumpet if I say he gets the best lines…

#nano2016 – Day 2. I’m on a Roll!

nanowrimo_2016_webbanner_participant

Day 2 – it’s currently 09:20pm, and I’m calling it a day. Girl and Boys is still growing nicely.

14725663_1792842960974245_7851603578638627987_n

As I’d set my own personal goal of 2k a day, as mention in yesterday’s post, I was determined to hit that. Early on, I was just over 1k, then I stalled for a bit. Those last 700 and something words were a bit of a struggle, but I finally hit that magic number.

Today’s word count: 2,000 (Bang on!)

Story word count: 28,206 (I can smell you, 30k)

I do believe it’s time for more episodes of How to Get Away With Murder, Season 2 as a reward!

Tomorrow needs to be as productive, as I’m out on Friday evening (May or may not be a blog post) and I’d like to be ahead by the time I start getting ready.

14650204_1792124314379443_3021280929979772598_n

Here’s a tiny snippet from what I wrote today.

#nano2016 – Day 1. I’d Call It a Success.

nanowrimo_2016_webbanner_participant

Day 1 – it’s currently 09:15pm, and I’m calling it a day. Girl and Boys is chugging away nicely.

14725663_1792842960974245_7851603578638627987_n

At some point throughout the day, I’d decided that I want my own personal daily goal to be 2,000 words a day. That way, I’ll be ahead of myself if ever I need to miss a day of writing for any reason (hey, it happens. I’m a mum of kids who argue!)

Today’s word count: 2,060

Story word count: 26,206 – I’d call that a win. For now…

Now it’s time for me to put on my PJs and chill with my kindle.

14925562_1199414763448341_640266655109632964_n

Let’s hope that tomorrow is just as productive, if not more. If I manage to “win” this year, this book will end up about 75,000 words long. An actual full length novel. It’s been a while since I wrote one of those!

Also, if I win, what’s to stop me taking part in Camp Nano next year?

Cover Reveal – It Started in Texas

Well, it’s finally here. The cover of It Started in Texas. I absolutely ADORE this cover, and I hope you do too. Also, the pre order is now live.
All the info is below, along with some teasers:
IT STARTED IN TEXAS
Name of cover designerThe Graphics Shed
Official genre of book – Contemporary Romance
Leaving the familiar comfort of her UK home for a weekend in Texas is one of the craziest things Charlotte Evans has ever done. Celebrating her birthday with friends is the highlight of her year until she bumps into her favourite rock star, literally.
Gage Weston is used to having women fall over themselves at his feet … A rock star, an actor, he’s got his fair share of female attention, but what is it about the Brit that grabs his attention from the moment they meet?
Communication issues and crossed wires plague them as they try to work out what is going on with them across thousands of miles. Crazy friends and distance issues aside; can a relationship work, or is it a simple case of ‘a girl in every town’?
“Sounds awesome. I better let you get back to your friends. Mine will come hunting soon if I don’t hurry back; it’s my turn to buy the drinks.” He held out his hand again. “I’m Gage.” I almost burst out laughing as I shook his hand, trying to ignore the warm feeling spreading up my arm.
“Charlotte, it’s nice to meet you.”
“You too. Sorry I knocked you on your ass, I hope it doesn’t bruise.” Oh my God, he actually fucking winked at me. Dare I?
“Maybe I’ll get you to check it later.” Over his shoulder, I could see some of the girls goggling at me trying to listen to what was being said. “The troops have come to rescue me. I gotta go.” With more than a hint of regret, I withdrew my hand from his once again.
“Yeah, see ya.” He looked over his shoulder at everyone watching us before disappearing into the gents. I took a deep breath and prepared myself for the Spanish Inquisition. Walking towards the girls, a huge grin on my face. As soon as I was within grabbing distance, they did just that and frogmarched me back to our table.
I was in the middle of my non-story when I felt a tap on my shoulder. Turning around, I was assaulted by those eyes once more as they looked directly into my own.
“You dropped your cell phone.” Sure enough, in his hand was my mobile. I internally groaned as I remembered the wallpaper was a picture of him from a recent magazine interview that had been posted online.
“Thanks. I didn’t even miss it.” Our fingers touched with a sizzle, or so I thought. It could have been the booze.
“No worries Darlin’. How’s the ass?” I saw mouths drop open around me at the blunt and flirtatious question.
“Its fine thanks. I’ll keep my eye on it.” My words made him grin again. I could get used to seeing that smile up close some more.
“Nice job if you can get it.” He flashed us all another wide smile and then sauntered back to his band mates.

6578767M. B. Feeney is an army brat who finally settled down in Birmingham, UK with her other half, two kids and a dog. Currently at university studying for her BA (Hons) in primary teaching, she procrastinates on her assignments by listening to music of all genres and trying to get ‘just one more paragraph’ written on whichever WIP is open. She is also a serious doodler and chocoholic. Writing has been her one true love ever since she could spell, and publishing is the final culmination of her hard work and ambition.

Her publishing career began with two novellas, and she currently has multiple projects under way whilst Honour, a compilation of her own military based shorts, was released in November 2013 and her short novel, The One That Got Away was released February 2015. Always having something on the go can often lead to block which eventually gets dissolved by good music and an even better book.

Her main reason for writing is to not only give her readers enjoyment, but also to create a story and characters that stay with readers long after the book is finished, and possibly make someone stop and think “what if…”
